Minor in Teacher Education

Degree Earned: Minor Are you planning on teaching after graduation? The School of Education & Human Development (SEHD) will now enable undergraduates to get a jumpstart on their teaching careers. When you join CU Denver’s Teacher Education minor, you gain access to a 4+1 program that helps you earn a degree in your current major, a Master’s in Teaching, and a Colorado Teaching License in five years.

Master of Arts in Teaching, Middle School Math (License)

Degree Earned: MA License Deepens an understanding of mathematics while illustrating how to engage middle school students in meaningful learning experiences. Applicants with a wide range of professional experiences are encouraged to take this program and become fully licensed middle school math teachers.

Master of Arts in Teaching, Social Studies (License)

Degree Earned: MA License Prepares individuals to teach in diverse middle and high school classrooms and expand students' worldviews, support a global perspective, and deepen critical thinking and analysis skills. Features a residency program perfected and proven through almost 30 years of ongoing work with partner schools.

Master of Arts in Teaching, Secondary Science (License)

Degree Earned: MA License Prepares educators to teach science to diverse adolescents and promote their appreciation for scientific discovery. Features a proven and perfected residency program with partner schools. Graduates gain in-depth knowledge and skills that allow them to make science meaningful to their students.

Master of Arts in Teaching, Special Education Generalist (License)

Degree Earned: MA License Prepares individuals to instruct students of varying abilities in diverse elementary, middle, and high school classrooms, using an assets-based approach. Graduates are equipped to identify and champion the strengths and assets of children with differing abilities.
