Welcome to the School of Education & Human Development (SEHD) at CU Denver - Colorado’s leading urban public research university. SEHD is nationally recognized for its teaching excellence, innovative and community-engaged research, long-standing community and school partnerships, and award-winning academic programs. We are an inclusive and caring community that seeks to ensure that everyone feels a strong sense of belonging.
The SEHD has over 17,500 alumni. They are influential members of our community who serve in key positions across our state. Our graduates are equipped with the knowledge, skills, and relationships that allow them to make meaningful changes in the lives of students and clients of all ages.
The SEHD is home to 14 areas of study at the graduate and undergraduate levels. These degree programs prepare graduates who profoundly impact the lives of those with whom they work. We strive to be equity-serving which means that we want outcomes in communities and schools to be consonant with our values.
SEHD’s Continuing and Professional Education (CPE) arm is a site of innovation, flexibility, and customized programs. Programs co-developed with district and community partners extend our reach across the metro area and the entire state. CPE provides a wide array of degrees, courses, an alternative teacher licensure program, certificates, endorsements, and leadership training tailored to meet professional development needs.
SEHD is home to seven research centers and initiatives that address a wide range of areas of focus. We are very proud of our recent research grants.
Partnerships are the heartbeat of SEHD. The school has a 30+ year history of working in close partnership with schools and communities.
I hope your visit to our webpage is the beginning of a long, meaningful, and fruitful relationship with our School. Thanks again for your interest in the SEHD.
My best regards,
Marvin Lynn
