Are you interested in teaching students the importance of voting in a public election, how laws are established and how to contact state representatives? If so, you would make an excellent political science teacher for seventh through twelfth grade students! In this four-year, 120 credit hour undergraduate BA program, you will learn to plan assessment-informed instruction for educational excellence and equity for all children including those from diverse racial, ethnic, linguistic, class and ability backgrounds.

At CU Denver, preparing political science teachers is a highly collaborative process between the political science department in the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences and the School of Education & Human Development. This program offers real life experience with secondary schools in Denver Metro area school districts.

In this teacher education program, you will learn from nationally and internationally recognized faculty members who are known for innovation and research. Through the political science department, you will garner the essential content and education theory needed to be an effective teacher. Courses

To earn this 120 credit hour BA in Political Science with a teacher's license in Secondary Education students must satisfy all requirements in each of the four areas below. Students should declare their track as early as possible to avoid taking classes that do not count toward their degree or licensure.
