Using digital and social media platforms and technologies, you will design and produce accessible materials and learning experiences for people in school, organizational, and community settings. ­­­People with the Digital Media Design for Learning minor go on to be designers and producers of educational software in publishing and software companies; designers and producers of online training and training materials for large, global companies and organizations; designers and producers of educational exhibits in art and science museums; and designers and academic-technology consultants in K12 and college/university settings. When you select this completely online minor you become a part of an existing vibrant learning design community and professional network. We look forward to working with you!

Recommended as a first course in the minor:

  • INTE 4100 Learning Experience Design (3 credits)

Select three courses from the following options:

  • INTE 4340 Learning with Digital Stories (3 credits)
  • INTE 4680 Producing Media for Learning (3 credits)
  • INTE 4660 Developing Self-paced Online Modules (3 credits)
  • INTE 4711 Creative Designs for Instructional Materials (3 credits)

Recommended as a final capstone experience for the minor, select one of these two courses:

  • INTE 4000 Maker Studio (3 credits)
  • INTE 4665 Learning with Social Media and Networking (3 credits)

Areas of Concentration

A student may choose to complete a concentration in public policy analysis as part of the MPA. It is possible to complete the executive MPA with a concentration in rare occasions but will require careful planning with an advisor and additional credit hours.

This concentration provides training in the tools and skills needed to assess the impact of public policies and programs, including policy analysis, cost-benefit analysis, program evaluation, multivariate regression and other analytical techniques. Students must complete 12 credit hours to earn the concentration.

Students must complete the following course, for a total of 3 credit hours:

  • PUAD 5320 – Public Policy Analysis (3 credit hours)

Additionally, students must complete three elective courses from the list below for a total of 9 credits.

  • PUAD 5200 - Education Policy (3 credit hours)
  • PUAD 5310 - Principles of Policy Design (3 credit hours)
  • PUAD 5330 - Intermediate Statistical Analysis (3 credit hours)
  • PUAD 5350 - Program Evaluation (3 credit hours)
  • PUAD 5631 - Seminar in Environmental Politics and Policy (3 credit hours)
  • PUAD 5720 - Public Policies for Hazards and Disasters (3 credit hours)
