License

Completers of University of Colorado Denver's Administrator License are fully prepared to take all required licensure exams. The Administrator license allows education leaders to take on executive roles at the district level to assume roles such as president, superintendent and other district-level leadership roles and responsibilities.

What you'll learn

The Administrator License is part of CU Denver’s Leadership for Educational Organizations program. We invite and admit professionals across Colorado who have a master's degree and a minimum of five years of leadership experience in education. Our program prepares you to assume roles such as president, superintendent and other district-level leadership roles and responsibilities. The skills you will develop will prepare you to lead districts to be inclusive, highly effective and future-ready.

Completers of University of Colorado Denver's Administrator License are fully prepared to take all required licensure exams. This license opens the door to executive district roles.

CU Denver provides institutional recommendations for the Administrator license. You will need to complete a portfolio for the licenses. Please review the CDE website for detailed instructions.

Application Requirements

  • 1 letter of recommendation.  Please provide a letter of recommendation from a superintendent or a district supervisor, indicating support for your pursuit of the program and clinical work in the district.  
  • Official Transcripts from all institutions attended.  A Master’s degree or equivalent is required with at least a 3.0 GPA.  A minimum undergraduate GPA of 2.75 is also required.
  • Resume/CV.  It is preferred that your resume lists a minimum of 5 years leadership experience in the field of education.
  • Written Statement: Describe your interest in the program, your special strengths, and the goals you hope to achieve through your work in the program
  • $50.00 application fee
  • International Applicants only: Proof of English Language Proficiency (International applicants should review the following information regarding English language proficiency)
  • Admissions Interview: An interview may be required as part of the admissions process. If so, applicants will be contacted with more details.
