Our team of Alternative Licensure Instructors (ALIs) and education professionals are ready to share their real experience and guide you towards your goal every step of the way.
Together we offer over 60 years of experience as professional learning leaders and educators and have built a learning community that mentors and empowers new teachers towards a successful teaching career built upon culturally responsive and inclusive teaching practices.
Leslie Prock joined The School of Education & Human Development in 2008 as a Site Professor in the Urban Community Teacher Education program. She came to ASPIRE to Teach as an Alternative Licensure Instructor in 2013.
Prock began her teaching career in the Los Angeles Unified School District. While teaching, she gained knowledge and expertise in developing professional development, working with emerging bilinguals, co-teaching, and working with students in a variety of after-school programs. She then became an instructional coach for UCLA in LAUSD middle schools for two years.
Prock enjoys spending time with her daughter, taking long walks, baking together and experiencing life through her eyes. She is also an avid traveler, along with her husband, an activity she sees as essential to maintain perspective and openness to the world.
ASPIRE has been so supportive through my whole first year of teaching. I have had so many questions and issues come up and I know I can count on my ASPIRE Instructors to be there. They are supportive and always make sure that they are there to answer all of my questions. - Kiwi , ASPIRE Candidate
