The School of Education & Human Development (SEHD) at the University of Colorado Denver is marking a meaningful transition in its Office of Continuing and Professional Education (CPE). After more than nine years of visionary leadership, Shannon Hagerman, PhD, is retiring from her role as executive director. Her tenure has been defined by energy, innovation, and a deep commitment to educators and learners across Colorado.

“Shannon brought unmatched passion and strategic insight to our work,” said Dean Marvin Lynn, PhD. “We are deeply grateful for her contributions and excited to build on the strong foundation she leaves behind.”
Under Hagerman’s guidance, CPE became a statewide leader in educator development, offering flexible, affordable, and high-impact learning opportunities. The office supports thousands of professionals each year through:
- ASPIRE to Teach®, an alternative teacher licensure program
- Graduate-level certificates and endorsements
- Leadership training and workshops
- Master’s-level coursework and continuing education
As we look to the future, a talented team is stepping up to lead the next chapter:
- Jody Tucker, EdD ([email protected]) will serve as program director for professional development and partnerships, strengthening relationships with schools, districts, and community organizations.
- Jenna Ronnebaum, MBA, ([email protected]) will continue leading business operations and take on expanded administrative responsibilities to support SEHD’s growing portfolio.
- Jennifer Fox, EdD, ([email protected]) will continue to lead the ASPIRE to Teach program, a vital pathway for aspiring educators.
Together, these leaders bring deep expertise in educator development, strategic collaboration, and program innovation. Their work will ensure that CPE continues to empower educators and human development professionals at every stage of their careers.
