Carolyn returned to the SEHD after seven years at the Colorado Department of Education where she held positions of Interim Associate Commissioner of the Educator Talent Division and, previously, the Director of Research in the Educator Talent Division. The office she led used research, data analysis, data visualization, and reporting to tell the story of the educator pipeline in Colorado with the goal of improving the recruitment, retention, and development of quality educators. Prior to that, she was the Executive Director of Accreditation and Associate Research Professor in the SEHD. Carolyn also has served as Director of Student Assessment at CDE, Director of School Improvement and Accountability at Westminster Public Schools, and Director of Research at Boulder Valley School District. Since 2011, she has taught research and evaluation methods for the SEHD as an adjunct professor, teaching courses in research design, quantitative methods, qualitative methods, and program evaluation.
