Dr. Teara Flagg Lander currently serves as the Founding Executive Director of the Higher Educational Shared Equity Collaborative (The Collaborative) and an Assistant Teaching Professor for the Ed.D. in Leadership for Educational Equity in Higher Education in the CU Denver School of Education and Human Development. Formerly she served as an Associate Vice President of Student Services and Enrollment Management at OSU-OKC where she oversaw the pipeline from student recruitment to enrollment and beyond as well as supervised three federal TRIO programs. Throughout Dr. Lander’s 15 year career she has served in an number of roles to include, Director of Campus and Community Engagement, Tinker AFB Campus lead at Webster University and as an Assistant Vice President for the Division of Diversity Equity and Inclusion at the University of Oklahoma where she specialized in DEI and leadership equity. While at OU, Dr. Lander was the namesake and inaugural winner of the 2023 (Dr. Teara Flagg Lander) Visionary Award for her impact creating dynamic initiatives like the IDEA Summit, WeAre belonging campaign, the creation of a Motherscholar working group, and her role in creating the Division of DEI. While she maintained administrative roles, Dr. Lander also maintained a teaching load in areas such as Women and Gender Studies, Qualitative Research Methods, and Leadership Theory. In addition to her university work, Dr. Lander is also the owner and principal Consultant of TFL Consulting wherein she specializes in DEI, Inclusive leadership and women in leadership. She received a Bachelor of Arts with a major in political science from the University of Central Oklahoma and a Master of Education with a focus on higher education administration from the University of Oklahoma. She earned a Doctor of Education in educational leadership with an emphasis in higher education from Kansas State University. Additionally, she holds two graduate certificates in qualitative research methods and social justice education also from Kansas State University. She is passionate about educational access and creating a more equitable world. In her leisure time, she enjoys being with her family, traveling, and reading.
