Diane Estrada joined the School of Education and Human Development (SEHD)in 1999 as the Director of The Counseling and Family Therapy Center and the CU-Denver Student Counseling Center. In 2001, she decided to return to the classroom to train students in multicultural responsive counseling practices at California State University Sacramento. In 2003, she returned to the SEHD as a faculty member in the counseling program where she has served in various leadership positions.
Prior to coming to CU Denver, Estrada was a faculty member at Florida Atlantic University. She also worked in community mental health agencies, and established a family therapy practice working with a diverse population of clients.
Estrada's hobbies include hiking, biking, snowshoeing with her husband, daughter, and canine child.

Research
My research centers on the impact of multicultural and social justice issues on clinical supervision and training of counselors and couple and family therapist. In particular I have focused on ethnic, gender, and sexual orientation issues and the way these socio-political identities impact people's experiences in their clinical and professional lives.
