Integrating Language into Content Instruction

with Chris Carson

This workshop gives you practical, research‑informed ways to integrate language development into your everyday content lessons. You’ll explore how to support emerging bilingual students in growing their language and literacy skills throughout the entire school day while engaging them in meaningful, grade‑level learning.

Emerging bilingual students benefit from intentional, high-quality language development opportunities throughout the entire day, including opportunities to use and develop language through rigorous academic content instruction.

This workshop highlights what can happen beyond the ELD block, turning every part of the school day into an opportunity for meaningful language support, deeper comprehension, and stronger engagement.

Participants who complete the series of workshops and this independent study are eligible for graduate credit that can be used toward a CLDE or CLD-BE endorsement program and/or MA in CLDE.
