Dimensions of Language Growth

with Chris Carson

Through this workshop, you will plan and enact specific strategies to build student language in four dimensions: speaking, listening, reading, and writing.

Focusing on four specific dimensions of language—speaking, listening, reading, and writing—this workshop explores ways to integrate specific strategies for developing language while strengthening content instruction. Taking a student-centered “language as action” approach, we will examine how we can build on multilingual students’ assets, positioning all students as important contributors to content lessons.

Audience: K-12 educators and education leaders
