University of Colorado Denver’s Open Digital Education certificate is designed for professionals in K-12 settings, higher education settings, and adult workplace settings (corporate, community, government) who are interested in open approaches to teaching, learning, and inquiry. The certificate focuses on developments in open educational resources, practices, and learning communities with special emphasis on critical and creative pedagogy, initiatives, and designs. Learners will also access, analyze, evaluate, and create open educational resources and practices relevant to their professional trajectories, personal interests, and academic curiosities. Learners will also explore ideologies, tensions, and opportunities associated with open educational resources, practices, and initiatives.

Through these courses you will participate in a learning community that stresses inclusive values, social learning, open sharing, and knowledge construction. You will learn about emerging trends and issues and relevant research and best practices, and use a variety of digital media platforms and development tools. The course assignments focus on solving professional problems of practice in your own school and organizational settings.
